The concept of the role-playing shooter Hellgate: London, which is unlikely to be reborn in a sequel, is still able to attract our attention with the opportunity to walk through the ruins of real-life cities. Ukrainian project "Metro 2033: Last Vault"will open the Moscow of the near future, destroyed by nuclear war, for virtual conquest. I invented and described this catastrophe in every detail Dmitry Glukhovsky in the novel "Metro 2033", which automatically guarantees the project a twisted plot and a well-thought-out world. In addition, the author of the book personally takes part in the creation of the game, thanks to which an attentive gamer will be able to find an alternative ending and additional storylines.

For those who are not familiar with the novel, I hasten to inform you that humanity destroyed Moscow extremely effectively: it has become completely unbearable for people to live among dust and ashes, radiation is off the charts, at every step there are all sorts of distortions of gravity, deadly energy clots and other anomalies. The saddest thing is that such uninhabitable conditions do not prevent the existence of mutants of all shapes, sizes and colors. Good radiation endowed with immeasurable strength and arrogance everyone who did not flee to underground shelters. This is how pterodactyls, humanoid “blacks”, overgrown rats and mutant dogs appeared, as well as a giant colony of bacteria that settled in the ruins of the Kremlin. Some pigs remained true to their anatomy and physiology, which earned them an honorable place in the menu of surviving people. The remnants of the capital’s population were forced to hide in the subway, wear gas masks and forget about daylight. However, the harsh conditions of existence have not tamed the human passion for enmity with their own kind. Gradually, various groups appeared: from the “Emerald City”, where the full complement of Moscow State University moved, to the savage cannibals of the cult of the Great Worm.

The cruel world is ready for https://prizelandbingocasino.co.uk/mobile-app/ the arrival of a protagonist who will rush through a city full of dangers and unravel all the possible secrets of the new world. Such a hero was a resident of the VDNKh station named Artyom – a kind guy who, as a child, opened the pressure seal at his home station, thus threatening the lives of all its residents. And now, 12 years later, Artyom has a chance to correct his mistake, and to do this he will have to get to the stations of Polis – the largest and most respected of human groups. Artyom will have to shoot a lot of underground monsters and bandits with bullets, ride a handcar, complete a lot of additional tasks and overcome a number of simpler obstacles, which are presented to the player in the form of mini-games. The linear plot, which leads the player along the rails from station to station, will sometimes make stops, allowing you to exchange cartridges (the currency of the future) for new weapons. Considering that any barrel is useless without these same cartridges, you can count on two tactics being available in the game: either pour hundreds of bullets from all sorts of trash, or own an excellent, but always unloaded weapon. We also expect that Artyom can be taught all sorts of useful skills, although the developers are not sharing details on this yet.

Creators "Metro 2033"They will never make the mistake of Hellgate: London and will provide their project with a set of tools to grab the player by the soul. The characters will diligently create the effect of a living world: children – play, women – sew and cook, men – clean weapons and read books. It will be possible to conduct peaceful business with the residents of the stations or take away their belongings by force. In battle, the player’s back will be covered by friends, and if they go away for a couple of minutes, you can always call them by phone (not a mobile phone, of course). Since Artyom will spend most of his playing time in the company of enemies who are subject to death, special attention is paid to the intelligence of the latter. Opponents undergo a special training course: they learn to hide from shots, set up ambushes and throw grenades. Monsters, in addition, have special abilities: some climb on the ceiling, some emit an aura of unbearable horror, and some can even fly.

"Metro 2033" is created on our own 4A Engine, which should provide the game with modern graphics quality. The greatest attention is paid to light and shadow. For example, a "motor" can simulate the light falling from the windows of a moving train using small light sources located behind the windows. It also uses effects already familiar to us from other games, such as soft shadows, voluminous textures, and vision adaptation to changes in lighting brightness.

It should be noted that the technical capabilities are not yet enough to make the game beautiful, since the metro tunnels are not designed for walking along them, admiring the views. Excursions to dirty barracks and among burnt ruins will not add any variety. Thus, designers will have to try very hard, mixing the atmosphere of total devastation and nuclear action in the right proportions. Just without putting the player to sleep in the first minutes, having achieved a warm welcome based on his clothes, the creators of "Metro 2033"can expect to appreciate the depth of the story and the multi-faceted gameplay.
